Flywheel are a five piece psychedelic-pop band formed in Cork in 1994. Influenced by My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins and 18th Dye, they released the 1996 album ‘She’ with IWH Records, Sweden in 1996, which has been described in the Irish Examiner as “one of the truly great lost Cork albums”. They broke up shortly after the release, but have reformed in 2020 for a series of gigs and recordings. In March 2023 they dropped the 6 track Ep ‘You’ve Seen A Lot’ followed by 2 singles in October ‘Reject Guy’ and ‘Frail & Needy’. California Businessman are a 4 piece band based in the Blackrock area of Cork City. Formed in 2019 they have an LP on its way, recorded with Christian Best in Monique Studios. 5 singles have been released to date, the most recent ‘Divine Raptures’ having earworm ability.
